THE FAMOUS BEACH AND LAGOON OF OLUDENIZ
If scenic views are what you are after, head along to Mediterranean Oludeniz. As part of Fethiye, this beautiful aqua-marine bay, sat at the foot of colossal mountains, is one of Turkiye’s most popular tourist resorts boasting an adrenalin-pumping twist – it is also well known for extreme sports and the location for the International Air games held each October.
Everyone who visits Oludeniz falls in love with its beauty, and photos of this small resort and it’s famed lagoon have become the signature images for coastal Turkiye.
Once a simple back-packing retreat for hippies and nature lovers in the sixties, Oludeniz has changed a lot since then. It is now a sophisticated place with a cosmopolitan feel and good range of restaurants, shops, hotels and bars. Oludeniz offers the perfect blend of laid-back beach life and energy-filled action. Perhaps one the main pastimes for many is lazing on deck, drink in hand and staring at the sky to watch the paragliders pull their aerial antics overhead – their often death-defying tricks are certainly quite a sight!
For those seeking action, a tandem paragliding jump from Babadag and landing on the beachfront can easily be arranged, as can many other activities and excursions in the area. Those looking for a more sedate visit can browse the shops, sip a beachside martini, or enjoy a great meal in one of the many beachfront eateries.

Where to next?
CRUISING TO AND FROM OLUDENIZ
For those coming in by road, the first attraction is the long stretch of sandy beach leading to the famous Blue Lagoon, the sandbank and its bands of turquoise water gracing the cover of many travel magazines. But for those heading in by sea, the bay is exposed and strictly protected. Aside from a few anchorages for smaller yachts near the entrance to the lagoon, the bay may be the only option, moving on to shelter as winds pick up.
