With sun-kissed beaches, incredible history, high-end resorts, and Michelin Star restaurants, it should come as no surprise the Turquoise Coast now attracts the elite. Many locations are suitable for a little time onshore, from glamorous resorts to tranquil hideaways.
So, where do we suggest is best to pop on the cruising itinerary?
Find out with this list of must-visit spots for superyachts in Türkiye this summer…
D Maris Bay, Datça
Tucked high on the hillside of the Datça peninsula, you will find an exclusive resort aimed explicitly at the wealthy. Framed by pine forests and volcanic mountains and offering breathtaking views over beaches and islands, D Maris Bay is the ideal high-end escape, sure to please even the most discerning.
At D Maris Bay, a lavish experience is created for all guests. The resort features 159 rooms and suites, villas with butler services, and phenomenal restaurants catering to all tastes, including La Guérite, Zuma, and Nusr-Et. There’s also Mytha Spa, offering a broad range of massages and treatments tailored to your needs.
If you would like to visit D Maris Bay, yachts first need to make their entry from Datça Town. After clearance, you can anchor close to the resort, but making a reservation in advance is best. From there, guests can take the tender to shore and enjoy their time on the grounds. GET IN TOUCH to add a visit to your itinerary.
Yazz Collective, Turunç Bay, Fethiye
For many years, Turunç Bay has been popular with yachts. Situated five nautical miles from Fethiye and only accessible by sea, it is tucked into nature, famed for its citrus trees, and now home to one of coastal Turkiye’s most attractive and eco-friendly beachside haunts – Jazz.
The past few years have seen Yazz Collective attract a lot of attention, and Condé Nast, Boat International, Salon Privé, and Elite Traveler have all sung its praises. At Yazz, you can overnight in one of several luxurious, well-appointed suites with stunning sea-view terraces or spend time on a blissful beach with comfortable loungers and relaxed seating. If drinks and food are called for, there’s a bar hosting regular DJs and entertainment and a restaurant serving an inspired seasonal Mediterranean and Turkish menu.
Yazz Collective offers the perfect getaway for those who enjoy the finer side of life. So, if we have convinced you to take a look, please CONTACT US.
Macakizi, Bodrum
The Bodrum peninsular is home to many luxurious resorts, but occasionally, there’s one that’s hidden away and escapes mainstream attention. Maçakızı is that place!
Maçakızı is a unique boutique hotel with an unorthodox design that has come a long way from its humble 1970s budget beginning. It now offers elite travellers, A-listers, and celebrities a tranquil and exclusive escape from the tourist crowds.
A visit to Maçakızı is different, and as Forbes suggests, “There’s none of the glitzy flashiness – or gimmicks like pet menus or giant lit-up signs and brash multi-storey buildings”. At Maçakızı, it’s all about peace and refinement, and it offers a peaceful oasis with white-washed villas hidden in leafy gardens overlooking the Aegean and a restaurant that’s so outstanding that it was recently awarded a Michelin Star.
To experience Maçakızı for yourself, ASK US to make a reservation, or to know more about Maçakızı’s award-winning restaurant, read our article on Michelin Star Restaurants in Bodrum and Izmir.
ONNO Bar and Grill, Bedri Rahmi Bay, Göcek
No cruise along the Turquoise Coast would be complete without exploring the islands and bays around Göcek, our beautiful hometown.
You may recall that we mentioned Bedri Rahmi Bay in our post, The Best Bays in Göcek. It’s a bay we often add to itineraries due to its mix of beauty and its interesting fish mural, which is painted on a big rock by the shore.
The big fish painting was always a highlight, as it’s the work of Turkish poet and artist Bedri Rahmi. Still, aside from the fish, the bay is now on our radar due to the Michelin Star culinary talents of Chef Maksut Aşkar, who serves a menu of delicious Mediterranean and Aegean cuisine at ONNO Bar and Grill.
ONNO’s emphasis is on sustainability, and over the past year, it has become a go-to for many yachts cruising in the area. ONNO also serves terrific cocktails at the bar, so it’s worth heading along if you’re in the area. CONTACT US for a reservation.
Q Lounge, D Resort, Göcek
Although we could come up with many places to pop on the itinerary, we are sticking with Göcek for our last suggestion in our must-visit spots for superyachts. However, this time, we head closer to town and suggest a few cocktails and dining at Q Lounge, part of the impressive Göcek D Resort.
Q Lounge differs from most marina restaurants, as it’s nestled into the shade of tall pine trees overlooking Göcek Bay, so you enjoy a serene atmosphere. At Q Lounge, expect incredible sunset cocktails, an impressive range of wine, and a feast of delicious Japanese-Peruvian cuisine and sharing plates. LET US KNOW if you are in town and want a reservation.
