Kas is an attractive harbour town in Antalya Province and the ideal stop-off for those looking to avoid the well-trodden hot-spots. An old town with a cool bohemian feel, it’s a great place to sip a cold drink or sundowner in a trendy water-side restaurant, explore the warren of little shops and boutiques, or enjoy a local sea bass dinner or some traditional lamb “tandir”.

Kas, a pretty town with a bohemian feel.

Kas has been popular with European tourists for many years, yet recent years have seen it develop a luxury following. The steep mountainsides surrounding the bay are now awash with high-end villas offering dizzying sea views, and fancy artisan hotels, coffee shops and bistros now fill the back streets.

Kas is a place where super yachts sail alongside fishing tugs and traditional gulets in the local waters. It’s a place with a cosmopolitan feel and a great ambience of an evening, when the narrow streets come alive with people browsing an eclectic mix of handicraft, souvenir and carpet shops.

The harbourfront and Old Town is filled with bars and restaurants. From hippy hang-outs and trendy live music bars to more refined restaurants, Kas caters to most tastes.

For those seeking action, walking, paragliding and diving are all on offer locally, and the mesmerising sunken Lycian city of Kekova (Simena) is also a popular day-trip and swim-spot within easy reach of the town.

Cruising Info: Kas Setur Marina

Kas Setur Marina is a modern facility located 1 km from Kas town centre, towards Kalkan. It offers 7 floating piers, a jetty, and berths for around 450 yachts, including superyachts and mega yachts.

The marina is popular with those cruising the Turkish coast and most would agree Kaş is a good location to overnight. The quayside offers decent facilities and berths are affordable, certainly compared with some of the trendy marinas around Bodrum or Antalya.

For guests, Kas Setur Marina has a yacht club, hotel, restaurants, cafe, bar and a supermarket on-site, but most choose to arrange transport and head to Kas Old Town of an evening for shopping, eats and entertainment.

For yachts, all of the normal fuel and waste services are available, as well as a technical workshop and painting and mechanical assistance.
