Dalyan is best known as the location of the ancient trading city of Kaunos, and also due to the magnificent weathered facades of its Lycian rock tombs carved high in the hillside above its central river.

Due to this, the beach is a wide, long and unspoiled stretch of sand during the day, and closed between 20.00 and 8:00 hours during their laying and hatching season.

Dalyan’s mud baths are also a popular excursion and some say that Cleopatra herself would make the occasional trip to the region just to bask in the healing qualities of the mineral mud.
